The Google Institute is an in-depth study and application of Google tools available through the district's subscription to GSuite for Education. Study and practice will revolve around the core Google Apps including Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Sites, and Hangouts. Other Google tools to be explored are: YouTube, Google Chrome, Android apps for Chromebooks, and the use of third-party tools to extend the use of educational Google accounts. Participants will apply principles from this institute in their professional, instructional, and personal lives. Graduate credit is available for this institute through Doane University.
The Moodle Institute will help teachers become very familiar with Moodle as a platform for enhancing face to face instruction with online interactions. Time will be split between instructional sessions where teachers learn how to use Moodle as an instructional tool and practical sessions where teachers spend time developing content to use in their classroom next school year. In conjunction with face to face interactions, participants will participate in a facilitated online course to develop necessary pedagogical insights and aptitudes. Institute content will be aligned to district technology objectives for teachers. Graduate credit for the Moodle Institute is once again available through Doane University.
