FAQCan you block YouTube for my child?
Technically, yes, we can block YouTube for your child, but the same policy will apply to all students in the district. We are not planning to place individual restrictions on student accounts. What happens if another student damages my child's device? The district will work with students, parents, and administration to determine who is responsible for repairs to a damaged Chromebook. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and patience when these issues arise. I don't want my child to bring his or her Chromebook home. What options are available for storage at school? To help ensure that all students have the same access to technology across the district, we encourage all students to take the devices home at the end of the school day. If circumstances dictate that it would be wiser or more beneficial for a student to leave a Chromebook at school, arrangements should be made with the building principal. I want to buy a case or bag for my child's computer. What do you recommend? District-provided cases are manufactured by Brenthaven. All middle school students are expected to make use of the district-provided case when transporting their Chromebooks. The company has offered a 30% discount to patrons of the district using the promo code BENSCH-30 at checkout. You can easily find recommended embroidered cases, sleeves, and bags at https://www.brenthaven.com/bennington-schools. Physical samples will be available for inspection in the high school office by early September. Please note that Bennington Public Schools is not affiliated with Brenthaven, nor do we expect families to purchase a case or sleeve from this site or any other. This link and discount is only being provided as a service to our patrons. |
